SKS3 is a kind of chromium-molybdenum-vanadium alloy steel suitable for making cold mold and plastic mold. SKS3 steel is pure, the softening structure of spheroidizing annealing is easy to be machined, and it has high hardness when quenching. After tempering, it has better dimensional stability. Specification for heat treatment of SKS3 die steel:
 
Quenching: preheat to 550℃~650℃ and then heat to 800~850℃ and harden in oil.
 
Backfire: heated to 150℃~200℃, stayed at this temperature, and then quenched and cooled in still air.
 
Hardness :HRC above 60℃
 
Defire: heat to 750~800℃, stay at this temperature for one to three hours, let it gradually cool in the furnace.
